Green Mountain Coffee Colombian Supreme K-Cups 100ct

Saturday, May 9, 2009
K-Cups for the Keurig Brewer. Ground high in the Andes, a lush, vibrant cup with balanced complexity. 4 boxes of 25 cups.

We all know that single cup coffee brewers have raving reviews and currently they are the most popular coffee machine for anyone interested to brew coffee at home. So, what situation would this machine not be suitable for? Well, as highlighted in my other articles, I always think that each coffee machine is designed to fit one particular lifestyle. So, similarly while single cup coffee maker has many capabilities, it would not fit into every occasion.

This machine main advantage is also its greatest drawback -single serving. The ease of use and simple to set up operation of this brewer is mainly due to its one cup technology but this also create some limitation as I would highlight to you later on. The great coffee does not come from the machine; they came from the coffee pods. By using patented technology to pack and seal the flavor and aroma of the roast, these pods ensure that every cup of coffee brewed from their machines would give you great and consistent tasting coffee.

Whether it is the coffee pads from Senseo, the K-cups from Keurig or the T-disc from Tassimo, the secret of brewing great coffee all comes from the pods. And while this is the reason why a single serve coffee machine is so easy to use, it is also the reason why it would not work for some occasions. In order for you to get one cup of coffee from these machines, you would need to insert a coffee pod, press a button then wait for the coffee. For one single coffee, this is a very easy and fast way to drink your cuppa, but what about doing coffee for 20 or even 30 guests?

The greatest drawback for these machines is the single serve. They are designed for individual consumption and would still work well if you are entertaining a small crowd of 2-3 people but this is definitely not the machine for a big party. While the time taken to prepare a cup of coffee is short, imagine how would the guy at the end of the 10 person queue feels? And, because not everyone would be getting their coffee at the same time, by the time you make the last brew, the first coffee would have gone cold.

Other than these operation issues, cost is also another issue you would need to consider. Unless you are using superior Blue Mountain or Kopi Luwak on your normal coffee makers, if not, the cost for your coffee pods would definitely be higher than your other coffee. If you brew using the normal roast and ground coffee, the most that it would cost you is probably $0.10 per serve; a coffee pod would cost you at least $0.50, which is 5 times the cost!

So, if you are someone that entertains frequently and often host big parties, then it would make sense for you to get a commercial espresso maker. The single cup coffee is definitely not your beverage solution both in terms of operation and cost for this occasion.

Customer Review: Nice K-Cup coffee
We have found k cups tend to make weak coffee, but Timothy's is better than others. We like the hazelnut flavor
Customer Review: Hazelnut Decaffeinated Coffee
I have purchased a Keurig Coffee maker this Christmas for my family who all like different flavors of coffee. We also have a Keurig at work and my company supplies another brand of Hazel Nut Decaffeinated which I drink daily. After researching K-Cup coffees online, I found Timothy's World and because of the great rating from users, I purchased it. Well, it is great tasting, flavorful and I enjoy it more than the brand we have at work. I will continue purchasing this coffee for home and I recommend it for others to try. I can't drink caffein, but I am guessing that the regular Hazelnut is even more flavorful.

The SVP digital camera reviews are not favorable, but the cameras do look and sound appealing. The reviews are always a good way to see if the camera is something that you might want to buy. You can use the reviews to see what the specs are for the camera and if any user has offered a review for pros and cons of the camera. Unfortunately, you might have a few problems finding good reviews or positive reviews for the SVP line of cameras. You need to be very careful when looking at this particular make of camera.

The SVP digital camera reviews are useful to see how the company handles the warranty and how they are with refunds. The reviews also tell you if the camera is a good buy or not. If you use the reviews to your advantage, you will save yourself some bad experiences with any digital camera. The camera reviews are found on the Internet so you can judge and compare all cameras. If you read a review and think it might be a bit overrated, you can look for more information so you can have an accurate account of how the camera works.

When you need to see SVP digital camera reviews before buying one, you should look at user reviews, specifications, warranties, refund policies and where the camera is made. Customer service in far away lands may be hard to reach. Have a checklist ready, so you can do side-by-side comparisons of any cameras you are thinking about buying. By doing the comparison, you can judge which camera will best suit your needs and budget. This is very important if you are looking for a reliable and durable digital camera that will last you more than a few months. Make sure the software is compatible with your computer as well.

While SVP is one of the most interesting when it comes to high quality digital cameras, they're certainly not the only game in town. There are equal and better cameras around, you just need to know where to look.

Customer Review: Great morning coffee
I have a variety of K-cup coffees set up to automatically be delivered to my house. I love fresh coffee with little clean up! This one is a crowd pleaser. Not too strong, not too mellow. It seems to be a safe choice to please all coffee drinkers.
Customer Review: Good coffee choice for a wide number of tastes
I personally drink decaf, but I keep regular coffee on hand for those who don't. This flavor seems to fit the tastes of many coffee drinkers. Kind of like Goldilocks--not too week, not overly strong with a true coffee flavor. Everyone who drinks it has been satisfied with it.

Robotics is basically the study of how to make robots, the procedures and controls. The lessons included are about mechanics, electronics and computer programming. On mechanics the parts and their relationship to each other are observed, on electronics the effects of using batteries and electric power are analyze and on computer programming, the robot control management and strategies are explored. The so-called decision theory robotics lies on the third division of the study which is computer programming.

In decision theory robotics, the algorithm and information programs are very significant because these are programmed into the robot so that whenever they get fed with information through the use of transistor s and receivers. Once the robot gets feed with algorithms, it will perform the specific actions programmed for that kind of algorithm. The robot's response capacity solely depends on the program that it has meaning it is always under the control of humans. Robots can do so many things, but this is all because of human ideas and intelligence.

Ideally, every algorithm associated to a fixed or preset program should be expressed whenever the info was sensed by the robot. But sometime there are chances that the accuracy of the decision theory between the algorithm and the set up program fails. When this happens, the robot will be totally malfunctioning it will make actions not in relation to the operation that is being asked for or at worse cases, the robot will lose his capacity and get paralyzed. In such cases like this, help coming from robotics and programming experts are needed for they are the only ones who could understand the complexity on the robot.

The use of decision theory robotics have played significant role in our society today, because in almost everything that we do, we use some simple robots or devices that works because of this theory. We are just unaware but the cellular phones and other device that we are using are one example of this. We should value the things that these simple robots are doing for us for they make our life better and easier. They'd been taking care of the things that human should be doing, they speed up the pace of life of every individual.

Green Mountain Coffee Flavored Coffee Variety Pack, K-Cups for Keurig Brewers, 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Tuesday, April 21, 2009
Customer Review: If the name says "variety" -- shouldn't there be some variety?
My real complaint is not with the coffee that's in the box, as much as with the coffee that isn't in the box. Time to break out the dictionary and look up "variety." This is Green Mountain -- who make how many different varieties of flavored coffees in k-cups? 12? 16 during the winter months? How about a box with 2 of every favor? Or even 1 of every flavor available, including the regionals? That's variety. This is just too few of too few choices.
Customer Review: fine coffee
The best in the box is the hazelnut. After that is the French Vanilla. Both have a very fine flavor and brew well. The Rainforest Nut tends towards a bitter edge that makes it come across as a sub-par coffee.

There is nothing quite like having a perfect cup of coffee and although there are several different things that go into making that perfect cup, the coffee machines that you decide to use are going to play an important part. When picking a coffee machine you should pick one that specifies your needs and how often you will be using it. So, regardless of whether you are supplying coffee for an office full of people or if you run a restaurant that serves breakfast, there is a perfect coffee machine out there for you.

One of the most popular types of coffee machines is the bean to cup variety. There is some variety in size and type, so it is important that you take care in selecting the one that best suits your needs. At the top of the line, there are coffee makers that go from bean to cup which can produce 250 cups daily. This should be an ample amount, enough to even meet the needs of a coffee house. In order to ensure a fresh cup of coffee, it has to be ground and brewed on the fly.

Bean to cup coffee machines are best used in many small restaurants and busy offices to meet the capacity. Although a standard drip coffee machine might be good enough for the office, serving up something extra special could motivate them considerably. After all, having a great cup of coffee at your fingertips is the perfect way to really get your mind engaged and ready to tackle a hard day at work.

Of course, there are several other types of coffee machines you can choose from, including instant coffee machines as well as filtered coffee machines. A great addition to the office is a coffee machine that doesn't just make coffee! It also makes a variety of flavored drinks! You must be sure not to limit yourself and take a look at all available options. You would probably be surprised that the perfect cup of coffee is available, provided you know where to look.

Because they offer many different kinds of coffee machines and drinks through their website, Cafe Bar is the leading provider of hot beverages in the UK.

Customer Review: Wonderful Coffee. The BEST K-Cup
We are Jamaican Blue Mountain drinkers. How can you replace the best coffee on earth? When I received the Keurig coffee maker the many varieties of coffee I tried were far removed from my imported JBM. We are too spoiled. I read the description of this Ethiopian Kimssa and tried it. WOW! Wonderful Coffee. I never thought I would find any gourmet machine coffee that would taste as smooth, sweet and rich. Don't misunderstand, its not JBM but I would not have believed that anything could have come this close in a K-cup. This is not a dark roast. Very low acidity. Sweet, smooth and rich. Sweet aftertaste. Great for anytime of the day.
Customer Review: church coffee
I didn't really enjoy this one. I tend to like bold, rich, and smooth flavors. I felt this one was a little too light and more acidic than I prefer. It tasted slightly better than the drip coffee made en masse at most of the churches I have attended. It'll do in a pinch, but not my favorite.

San Telmo

Review: Ocho Punto Cinco

I was at first interested in renting an apartment in Palermo or Recoleta. But then I was told by someone I had just met in Berlin that when I visit Buenos Aires the place to stay is really this apartment in San Telmo. I had previously stayed in Palermo and I did tend to agree with him that I thought that Palermo is becoming too trendy and with all the new high rises it doesn't have that old world charm of some of the other sections of the city. So I was able to get a reservation at Ocho Punto Cinco in San Telmo and was very happy with my choice.

Apartment Ocho Punto Cinco is situated closely to the world-famous art district and Dorrego Square.

I found the 800 square foot apartment to be the perfect size for me. On my past visits, the cramped 40 or 50 square meter apartments of Palermo I found to be just too small. But here the large open rooms and queen master bed (as well as the smaller bed upstairs) I found to be perfect.

This apartment is in the beautiful French style. It has high ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors and customized stained glass. The apartment is large and airy and allow for lots of sunshine in the living room study and bedroom areas. It's important not to forget the gorgeous spiral staircase that leads to a storage area and also a bedroom on the upper floor. The furniture is customized and you also find amongst the modern appliances.

The overall design theme and feel of the apartment is modern classical however, it still embodies old world charm that you may find throughout Buenos Aires. The ocho punto cinco apartment has many amenities. They include a queen-size bed that has four posts, top-of-the-line bed linens and blankets, an armoire a workspace area that includes a desk where one can work or study. There are also wooden doors, beautiful hardwood floors and the master bedroom is air-conditioned. There is also a quaint kitchen nook where one can eat breakfast. I also found the antique bath tub very relaxing and a nice break from the city.

Individuals or families will also find modern appliances such as a washing machine, refrigerator, microwave, a coffeemaker and everything that you will need to make a delicious meals. There is also cleaning service once a week, so you don't have to be worried about handling that chore yourself. This apartment is located off of the main street, so you don't have to worry about a lot of traffic or constantly being disturbed by noise. There are also security doors within the apartment allowing you to feel safe while in the city. I also appreciated that the doors would completely block out the noise and light so in case I wanted to take an afternoon nap, that would be easy to do.

In review, San Telmo Ocho Punto Cinco is perfect for individuals who plan to visit Buenos Aires and don't want to stay in a hotel.

Coffee roasters can make or break the flavors in coffee. Too much roasting can destroy the sought after flavor and aroma of coffee. And insufficient roasting will produce under developed and dull flavored coffee.

It takes a good coffee roaster and a keen eye to reach the optimum stage of roasting coffee beans. But these days, coffee roasting has been brought up to another level. Automatic roasters that come with built-in computers, monitoring devices, timers and other innovations, have made coffee roasting easier and faster.

Coffee roasters have chambers where the coffee beans are placed, a heat component, a tray for the roasted coffee beans and a stirring handle. Most roasters are electrically powered and can come in a variety of sizes.

Different Models of Coffee Roasters

There are 3 main types or models of roasters and each has its own unique way of roasting coffee beans.

Fluid Bed Coffee Roasters

This model roasts coffee beans by producing a bed of hot air. Fluid bed coffee roasters are also called high yield roasters because when coffee beans are roasted they expand and produce more ground coffee. But on the downside, this type of roaster produces coffee with lesser flavor.

Tabletop Coffee Roasters

This type of coffee roaster is generally difficult to find and may cost higher than the other models. You can add flavors to coffee beans that are being ground using a tabletop coffee roaster. And they are composed of small pans that can roast coffee beans on top of a gas burner or electric stove.

Drum Coffee Roasters

Drum roasters are more favorable since they can transfer even heat from the drum to the coffee beans; thus, giving a more rounded flavor to coffee. Drum coffee roasters have cylinders that hold the coffee beans while roasting.

To Roast Or Not To Roast...

Coffee roasters have interestingly invaded homes and manufacturers have developed models that are great for the home. But is it good to keep and use one at home?

Well, coffee roasting requires time to learn in order to achieve the eye for perfection. It takes time to also learn the roasting techniques in order to get even flavors from coffee beans.

If you do want to enjoy freshly roasted and ground coffee, you may always ask your local grocery shop to do the job for you. Your favorite specialty coffee shops may also offer these services.

Roasting coffee is not for everyone. If you have the patience and the passion for home-roasted coffee beans, you may opt to do the roasting yourself. On the other hand, you can always ask your retailer to do the job for you. Either way, there's always a way to get the best flavor out of your coffee beans.

Peyton Hines has been drinking coffee for over 45 years. He had his first taste for coffee when he worked offshore and realized that the only "break" was a coffee break. Over the years his love for coffee continued to grow. Three years ago he started to investigate and educate himself about the numerous varieties and different types of coffee. The majority of coffee production in the regions of Ethiopia is from the wild coffee tree forests and from there has spread across the world. However, because of the necessary growing conditions, which require plenty of sunshine and rain, the coffee trees are only found in tropical or sub-tropical locations. There is a narrow strip of about 25 degrees both North and South of the equator where basically all of the coffee in the world is produced. It is incredible that so much product can be produced from such a small amount of eligible environment. Coffee actually is the second highest commodity in the world next to oil when measured in dollar value. This lucrative product does come from some of the world's under-developed and poor countries oddly enough.

Brazil is still the largest producer of coffee. Brazil produces about 28% of all the coffee. Colombia is next at about 16% followed by Indonesia with about 7%. Mexico trails with about 4%. Coffee trees have adapted to different environments but the best coffee still comes from the high altitudes.

Brazil has huge coffee farms that employ several hundred workers to look after care of the trees. Colombia because of its mountainous terrain and low economic conditions involves transport by either mule or Jeep. Hawaiian coffee producers use Mauna Loa volcano slopes to plant their coffee trees. The location is perfect for both sunlight and precipitation.

Indonesia is comprised of numerous islands and this is where coffee has grown since the 17th century when the Dutch colonists arrived. Indonesia is known to have the perfect climate for coffee although other countries definitely have higher forms of technology. The most farms are found on the islands of Sumatra, Java, and Sulawesi.

The Mexico coffee farms are rather small farms in comparison to Brazil, but there are about 100,000 of them. The majority are found in the south around the Vercruz, Oaxaca, and Chiapas. Mexico is also known for its Altura beans which are grown at the highest of altitudes. Vietnam has been gaining in coffee production rapidly and quickly approaching Indonesia's position. Although the country originally was farming Arabica beans, it known produces Robusta beans.

Africa is known for its dark and large coffee beans, although they are rather a small producer of coffee. In Kenya the beans are one of the largest in the world and therefore have resulted in the well known fruity taste. The Ivory Coast is known for its production of espresso blends. Regardless of where the coffee comes from, there are plenty of coffee drinkers around the world to enjoy each and every one. Each individual coffee lover most definitely has a favorite, however, finding a favorite can only come from trying many different kinds.

Have you read about this recently? The Ralph Nader Research Group says, "U.S. drinking water contains more than 2,100 toxic chemicals that can cause cancer." I don't know about you, but when I read that, it spurred me into action and I went out looking at home water treatment systems and shortly after bought one.

Since I wanted to make the best choice on how to rid my water of those 2,l00 cancer causing contaminates I researched water treatment products. I discovered there were many to choose from.

Let me tell you a little of what I found for home water treatment systems. There are reverses osmosis systems, carbon filtration systems and distilled water systems. These all work a little different, and one of them is better than the other two.

Reverse osmosis systems and distilled water systems de-mineralize the water. The minerals in the water are important for our bodies to function correctly. If we drink water without the natural minerals in it, our bodies will try to compensate for the lack of minerals by pulling them from somewhere else.

One of the minerals that is so important for our strong bones in calcium. I don't know about you, but I don't want my body pulling calcium out of my bones to balance the water I drink. Other important minerals such as potassium and magnesium are also naturally present in our water.

So from a mineral standpoint reverse osmosis and distilled water is not the way to go. A couple other things to look at with a reverse osmosis system are the cost to run the home water treatment systems and what contaminates they filter out.

Reverse osmosis water treatment products run on electricity. With the high cost of electricity and the fact that there are home water treatment systems that don't need electricity, that also do a better job, I don't think it is prudent to use a reverse osmosis system.

A reverse osmosis system will remove out the sludge, the particles and debris in the water, but the liquid chemical impurities, and many microscopic parasites and bacteria are still in the water after undergoing the treatment process. And since the main job of home water treatment systems is to remove those deadly contaminates, reverse osmosis just doesn't do the job.

So the water treatment products we have left are the carbon filtration ones. There are different models of these; some are superior to others. The best ones are the ones that use different types of filtration. With these you remove all the contaminants that are in the water.

The different types of filtration are carbon filters, sub micron filters, multi block filters and ion exchange. When you combine all of these together each one filters out various types of contamination. If water treatment products only have one of these types of filters, only part of the dangerous chemicals and substances are removed.

So if you are spurred into action like I was, look for water treatment products that use all the methods I've mentioned above to purify your water. Everyone needs to drink pure, healthy water free from dangerous contaminates.

Juanita Ruby is passionate about health. She knows our bodies contain 70% water, thus the quality of our water greatly affects our health. Visit her website at http://www.your-best-water-site.com/ to discover which home water treatment systems she trusts for her family's health.

Single cup coffee brewing systems are growing in popularity and there are several reasons why they are attracting coffee lovers. There is quite a variety of machines available now and making a choice will take thought and evaluation. Some machines use coffee packaged in paper 'pods'. The freshness of the pods can not always be assured and the available blends will vary from machine to machine. A few can use interchangeable pods but the Tassimo Single Cup system can only brew coffee using a T-Disc. All Keurig One Cup brewing systems use K-Cups, which are small containers of vacuum packed coffee, available in a variety of blends and flavors.

Decide if a Single Cup brewing system is right for you. Consider the benefits:

  • Every cup is served hot and fresh.
  • Brewing a single cup is convenient.
  • Coffee is brewed in 1 to 3 minutes.
  • Flavor is a great improvement over instant coffee.
  • There are no beans to grind.
  • A coffee filter is not necessary.
  • You can choose different coffee flavors and blends for each cup.
  • There is no messy cleanup - no grounds to dump.
  • There is less waste as you brew only what you will drink.
  • It's ideal for coffee drinkers who each like different types of coffee.
  • A single brewer can be used at the office or work.
  • A small brewing system, such as the Keurig Mini B30, is compact and travels well.

When you are trying to decide if a single cup system is for you:

  • Read the reviews of each machine.
  • How durable and reliable are the various coffee brewers?
  • What is the customer feedback on single serve machines?
  • Evaluate different machines on the internet.
  • Check out Amazon.com and Consumer Reports.
  • Visit stores that carry single machines and look over the different brands.
  • How much kitchen counter space does a machine need?
  • What is a best selling brand?
  • What is the customer feedback?
  • What is the availability of coffee for the machine?
  • Does it use a K-Cup, a T-Disc, or an interchangeable pod?
  • Compare the cost of K-cups and pods.
  • Compare the cost of using pods or K-Cups with the money wasted when you dump undrinkable, stale coffee.
  • Compare the cost of purchasing bags of coffee beans for variety vs. the cost of the variety you can get with K-Cups or pods.

Selecting a coffee brewing system is really not a simple matter. A good hot cup of coffee can be an essential- so make sure you select a brewing system that will be the right one for you!

Coffee helps in reducing diabetes risk amongst pre-diabetics for about 60%, according to a current study from the University of California at San Diego. The study is the first to enlarge proof on diabetes risk lessening to that already glucose bigoted, a precursor to full-blown diabetes.

Published in the November issue of Diabetes Care, the study exposed that best gourmet coffee provide protection at the same, major levels for those commencement the review with high fasting glucose levels, stating pre-existing glucose bigotry, as it did for those with usual levels. In fact, those with eminent glucose levels showed a lower risk of rising diabetes than those initiating out with common glucose tolerance. Reduced Risk Past or present coffee drinking resulted in a diabetes risk issue of 0.39 on a scale where 1.0 is average risk in the universal population. That means risk was condensed in coffee drinkers for about 62%.

Uncovering the first proof, which coffee as well decreases diabetes risk among pre-diabetics, the risk level came in still lower level, at 0.31, for the subgroup with impaired glucose. That means pre-diabetics condensed their risk of mounting the disease by almost 70%. These results were self-governing of age, sex, and work out, body mass index, smoking status, every day alcohol intake, and hypertension. Unlike other studies, they were as well sovereign of the number of cups of coffee consumed on a daily basis. 555479

Methodology Further the study team, led by Besa Smith, engaged a review planned not used in previous research on coffee and diabetes. The team first separated those with harmful versus usual glucose levels using an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT). To summarize something as phenomenonally successful as Starbucks coffee history might be a challenge. Many volumes have been written on the subject, it is examined and taught in business schools, and whole semesters are dedicated to the marketing genius of the company. The amazing success of Starbucks business model certainly deserves commendation if not adoration in the business world.

The story of Starbucks coffee history begins in Seattle in 1971, when three friends with a passion for fresh coffee, Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl and Gordon Bowker, opened a small shop and began selling fresh-roasted, gourmet coffee beans and brewing and roasting accessories.

In 1980 Zev Siegl sold out to pursue other ventures. By that time Starbucks was the largest roaster in Washington with six retail outlets. In 1981 the small coffee company caught the attention of Howard Schultz, a plastics salesman that noted the large quantity of plastic drip-brewing thermoses that they were buying from Hammarplast, the Swedish manufacturer that Shchultz represented here in the U.S.

In 1982 Starbucks coffee history was changed forever when Baldwin hired the energetic Schultz as the new head of marketing and shortly thereafter sent him to an international housewares show in Milan, Italy in 1983. Schultz found himself infatuated with the vibrant coffee culture of Italy. While in nearby Verona, Schultz had his first caffe latte and, as he observed the cafe patrons chatting and laughing joyously while sipping their coffees in the elegant surroundings, inspiration struck.

In what he describes as an epiphany, the idea hit him, "why not create community gathering places like the great coffee house of Italy in the United States?" he wondered. This idea would place Starbucks coffee history into the annuls of business journals for decades to come.

However, his idea was not well received by Baldwin as he wasnt too keen on getting into the restaurant business and distracting him from his original plan of selling whole beans. But he did let him test a small espresso bar in the corner of one of the stores. It was an immediate success and Schultz branched out on his own and opened Il Giornale, a coffee house named after Italys largest newspaper, The Daily.

In 1987 Starbucks was up for sale and Schultz raised the $3.8 million by convincing investors of his vision, one hundred and twenty-five outlets in the next five years. Schultz modified the Starbucks bare-breasted mermaid logo into a more socially acceptable figure, changed the name of Il Giornale to Starbucks and converted the six existing Starbucks roasting shops into elegant, comfortable coffee houses. Starbucks coffee history was just was beginning to take shape.

Shultz exceeded his goal of one hundred and twenty-five stores in five years, in 1992 there were 165 cafes in operation. Today there are over 8,000 stores in 30 countries and annual revenues in excess of $7.5 billion.

Italian espresso machines are considered to be the best espresso machines currently available. They have the best looking designs in my opinion and some of the highest quality espresso machines in the world. Though they are expensive compared to other brands of espresso machines, I do feel it is value for money.

How To Find Italian Espresso Machine

Find an Italian espresso machine isnt really difficult. All you need to do is go online and check some of the coffee websites or any of the shopping comparison websites such as Shop.com or Bizrate.com. Some of the well known Italian espresso manufacturers are Saeco, La Pavoni and Delonghi.

It is quite easy to order an Italian espresso machine from any of the online merchants these days. However, before purchasing, you might want to check out some of the reviews on the particular brand and model of espresso machine before purchasing. Also check the online coffee forums. Not all espresso machines work the same and you certainly do not want to spend a week figuring out how to make a cup of espresso with your new espresso machine.

Which Is The Best Italian Espresso Machine

The best Italian espresso machine depends on your own preferences. For me, I prefer Saeco espresso machine particularly the Saeco Vienna. Its easy to use and maintain and pretty cheap.

I would recommend if you are a beginner to espresso machine to pick cheaper Italian espresso machines. Most espresso manufacturers have products suited for beginners which are cheap and easy to use.

Do your research online and check out the reviews of Italian espresso machines before purchasing.

Ricky highly recommends using Saeco Espresso Machines. Visit his website today for more reviews such as the Saeco Royal Professional Espresso Machine Review.

Electronic store gadgets seem to sprout out of nowhere like mushrooms. Every time you read a newspaper or magazine and watch the television, you are introduced to the latest and most advanced technological breakthrough on the face of the earth. Of the many gizmos and devices available on the market, one thing that TV addicts may want to consider investing on is the HDTV or High Definition Television.

This new device is a more enhanced version of digital television, or DTV. The resolution in HDTV is more defined and you will truly have a more cinematic experience with this type of television.

However, when buying HDTV, you need to insist on an integrated system because it is complete and you do not have to think about connecting tuner or receiver. With the integrated system, all you need is a satellite or cable connection.

If you do not have enough money, you can probably consider the HDTV-capable set. This is an HDTV monitor but you will need to find or buy an external receiver to enable you to watch an HDTV show or program. It is important to note that an HDTV without this external receiver is just like an ordinary television set. You will not be able to enjoy high definition images even if the monitor is HDTV without this add-on.

By the way, an HDTV ready is not necessarily an HDTV capable screen or monitor. Before buying this type of system, carefully ask your sales clerk if the set is actually an HDTV screen. Better yet, just stick with the HDTV integrated system or the HTV-capable set.

Since there are many brands of HDTV in the market, choosing one can really be daunting. To help you out with this task, read the buying guide below to know what features of HDTV to look for:

Audio

The most common type of sound system used in HDTVs is the Dolby Digital Surround. Some manufacturers, however, use other type of audio systems. The best way to determine which brand has the best sound is to try them out.

Connector Ports

The number of connector ports of HDTV varies tremendously from one brand to another. Thus, if you are buying an HDTV, or any other television sets, you need to see if the product has all the connector ports you need.

The usual connector ports that are being used are the Composite Video, RF, A/V, RCA, Component video, VGA and HDMI.

HD Receiver/Tuner

If you do not want any fuss, you should opt for a set that has an internal HD receiver or tuner. As mentioned earlier, this is the integrated system type of HDTV set. However, if your cable or satellite provider rents out or offers free external HD receiver, then you may want to buy the much cheaper HDTV capable set.

Resolution

One of the most important features that you need to look out for when buying an HDTV is the resolution. If the resolution of the HDTV set is poor, then there is really no reason why you have to buy that set because your old television set may have better resolution.

If you want fantastic resolution, be sure to look for a set that has a vertical resolution of 1080i and 720p. Standard television usually only has a vertical resolution of 480i. By the way, the "i" here stands for interlaced, which is the type of vertical resolution being used in analog TV, while the "p" is progressive, the usual choice for digital television sets.

Keurig K-Cup Green Mountain Nantucket Blend, 18 pack.

Friday, February 27, 2009
Keurig K-Cup Green Mountain Nantucket Blend, 18 pack. One of the most sophisticated blends youll ever enjoy. Borrowing berry flavors from African beans, a full body from Indonesian beans, and a subtle smokiness from a touch of French Roast, this blend represents a spectacular tapestry of flavors carefully woven together.
Customer Review: Amazingly wonderful coffee!
I love this Nantucket Blend coffee by Green Mountain and will continue to stock my kitchen with it! It is not too strong, not too weak, just right.
Customer Review: Bland weak coffee
I got a box of this when i bought mt Keurig coffee maker. Unfortunately, i think this particular blend of coffee is weak and has a watery taste. I even tried a small (6 ounce) brew size for this, and it was a little better - still not great.

Want to know the perfect gift for the true java lover in your life? Get him (or her) a French press coffee maker.

I'm sure you've seen this unique brewer before--it's quite distinctive. It's a staple in upscale restaurants (and in the homes of coffee geeks).

It's been around for well over a hundred years, but there's some debate as to whether this brewer actually came from France. Regardless, a French company, Bodum, currently distributes more of these press pots than anyone else in the world.

Here's what it comes with: a cylindrical glass carafe with a pour spout, a metal or rubber handle that encompasses the carafe, and a plunger. Classy. Simple.

So why do java connoisseurs love it so much? Because it uses a direct infusion brewing method.

You take whole beans, grind them coarse (a burr grinder is best for this), spoon them into the bottom of the carafe, add hot water (just below the boiling point), place the plunger on top of the cylinder, let the brew steep for 3-5 minutes, depress the plunger, and voila! You've got heaven in a cup.

There's no automatic drip mechanism, no paper filters tainting the pot. It's an absurdly simple, almost archaic process.

The direct immersion brewing method works so well because it retains the beans' essential oils, virtually ensuring a rich, flavorful cup of joe. Using a French press allows you to get a true appreciation for the flavors of various beans.

I guarantee, if the coffee geek in your life enjoys his brew bold and thick, he'll use his plunge pot every day. It gives you just about the best java you can possibly make at home, a true cafe experience.

But in all fairness, it does take time.

For starters, the beans must be ground fresh. No Maxwell House here!

Then, you have to heat the water separately, too. This isn't as fast and painless as using, say, a Keurig kitchen brewer, popping in a K cup, walking away, and coming back a minute later to a hot beverage. It's a bit more involved.

Another potential drawback is that coffee brewed by a French press may contain sediment from the coarse grounds used. Some models, such as a few offered by Bonjour, come with special pour filters to help eliminate this problem.

Another knock? Plunge pots simply don't brew much. A typical model will offer you only 32 ounces, or 8, 4-ounce cups. This is a far cry from the automatic drip machines that routinely churn out two or three times as much.

In other words, this isn't made for serving to the masses. It works best for solo java aficionados, couples, and especially, small dinner parties. There's nothing quite as impressive as whipping out one of these elegant brewers after dinner. Your guests will be wowed.

Best of all, French press pots are reasonably priced. You can grab a quality Bodum or Bonjour model for less than $50.

The coffee geek in your life will love it.

Keurig K-Cup Van Houtte Fench Vanilla, 18 pack.

Monday, February 23, 2009
Keurig K-Cup Van Houtte Fench Vanilla, 18 pack. Considered a classic - a creamy coffee, perfectly balanced, with a delicate flavor of vanilla. For more than eighty years, Van Houtte has been roasting fine coffees according to the traditional European method adopted by their founder, Albert-Louis Van Houtte. They carefully select the choicest beans from around the world and roast them in small batches. This is how they are able to capture the distinct flavors and rich aromas found in every cup of Van Houtte coffee.
Customer Review: Not the best of the k-cup flavors
I do love my Keurig coffee machine, and have sampled a wide variety of coffee flavors they offer. This one is NOT one of my favorites. It's acidic, and that overpowers the vanilla and coffee flavors. You can do much better. The two best I've tried so far are Green Mountain Wild Mountain Blueberry and Gloria Jean's Mudslide (chocolatey). If vanilla is your favorite flavor, I would try the Green Mountain or Gloria Jean version, or one of the others.
Customer Review: K-Cup French Vanilla
The item I purchased was delivered in a timely manner and was available at a good price. The shipping cost seemed a bit high, but the product was fresh and received in good condition.

Valentine's Day is a very special occasion and gives couples a chance to celebrate romance. Nevertheless, selecting a Valentine's Day gift can be a daunting task, even for the most experienced shopper!

It is certainly not easy to find a present that is both romantic and unique, whilst also making your loved one feel cherished and appreciated. No-one wants to receive a 'run-of-the-mill' type of present as the whole point of Valentine's Day is to acknowledge the love that you and your partner share - a personalised, luxury gift can help to symbolise this bond of devotion.

There are a variety of romantic Valentine's Day gifts available but only a select few can be meaningfully termed 'lavish.' For instance, anyone can buy a key ring but to have it encased in Swarovski crystals that have their own special sparkle implies pure extravagance. This theory of 'individualised luxury' can also be applied to an up-market scented candle, a beautiful trinket box or a plush ball point pen, with a well thought out message fabulously engraved making the gift totally personal.

Gift ideas such as these will help you to impress that very special person in your life; acting as a personalised token of your love for them, and one that will show them just how much you thought and considered what gift to give and how to present it.

Just as vita as the gift choice, it is equally important to bear in mind that the packaging of your gift is essential if you wish to convey a sense of expensive elegance to your partner, many a well thought of gift for a loved one ends up as a huge disappointment when the packaging or presentation box is of poor quality or lacking an elegant brand.

A beautifully presented gift is that vital finishing touch that will separate your gift from the average one bought in a department store. Ideally this means using an elegant presentation box, with a chic material pouch to protect your gift. Remember that these extra thoughtful elements will not go unnoticed and are sure to be appreciated.

Most people hold the view that Valentine's Day is solely a day for romance all around the world. However, Valentine's Day very much includes anyone who shares the bond of love, of course including both family and friends.

Its an ideal time to show anyone you care, so why not buy a pen for your sister or a key ring for you brother as a way of celebrating your affection for each other. It is a day for all those you want to make feel special, so make sure you buy a sumptuous gift to show them that you care.

Remember to always relish the people in your life; a beautiful gift can certainly help you to do this. Taking the important step of making sure the Valentine's gift is personalised with a special message to your loved one and beautifully packaged will ensure that your gift is appreciated and treasured.

Excellent coffee but I recommend using the small cup brewing for a better taste. I like my coffee strong.

Mocha Java is a must for those who enjoy a mild and smooth tasting coffee, it is comparable to Italian Roast. I tried a few Timothy coffee brands and must say that this is a must for those who like a mild smooth coffee.

Halogen lights and bulbs are types of the incandescent light technology. These lights and bulbs function by letting electricity pass through a filament or thin wire of tungsten enclosed by a tube of glass filled with halogen gas. The halogen gas serves as the catalyst for chemical reaction. The reaction causes the tungsten to be removed from the glass wall and deposited back to the filament. This is the cause of the bulbs' long life. Though an offshoot of the incandescent technology, the filaments in halogen lights and bulbs must have higher temperature than those used in incandescent lights for the reaction to happen. This results in a brighter and whiter light.

However, the brighter light of halogen lights and bulbs causes the tungsten to evaporate faster, hence, the need for an expensive gas to stagger the evaporation. The gas of choice used is krypton gas. Together with a high pressure, these two effectively stagger and lower the evaporation rate of tungsten in halogen lights. This process also requires a thicker and smaller bulb which translates into higher temperature. A temperature of 300 degrees Celsius is not uncommon for halogen bulbs. This is the reason why halogen lights got the reputation of being fire hazards. But there is no need to worry about fires due to these lights if they are used and installed properly.

First, be careful to avoid touching halogen glass bulbs with bare fingers. Not only it is hot, but the natural oils or sebum from our hands can damage the bulb by weakening the glass. This may cause the glass to explode if and when the tungsten burns out. Second, install them in low traffic areas. This way, the risk of brushing or coming into contact with people is greatly reduced. Third, keep halogen lights and bulbs from objects that are flammable and prone to scorching. Halogens can used in closets or rooms if you are sure that they will have at least 18 inches clearance from clothes and objects that are easily burned. If you must use them in cramped and closed areas, like glass-topped shelves, minimize heat caused by the bulbs by replacing higher watt bulbs with lower-watt bulbs. Drilling air holes or vents in the cabinet can help in reducing and preventing trapped heat.

To recap, halogen lights and bulbs can be used for your advantage because of their efficiency and longer life. They are usually compact and can be dimmed. Though they are also disadvantaged to use for being fire hazards. The danger of causing fire with halogens are largely dependent on our use of it and maintenance.

This is an article about red coffee maker, but what is so special about this coffee machine? This is not about a brand or a particular model, but a color, so why am I writing an article about the color red? Well, the materials which I used to write my articles, come from the questions and queries that I get from people looking for coffee making machine. Sure, best and gourmet are still the most popular coffee machines that coffee lovers are looking for.

What is surprising is the color red is also one of the most searched coffee brewers. This is pretty interesting, don't you think so? Rather than asking me where to get the best, or how I would evaluate certain brand of machines making coffee, people are asking me which red coffee brewer I would recommend. Being curious and hoping to know the real reason behind the many requests on red coffee machines, I chat with those people asking, and then confirm the result with professional.

The feedback from these folks on the need for a red color machine is because after running through many color scheme in their mind, they felt that red color would be the one most suitable to blend into their kitchen decor.

I leave it at that and did not asked any more questions although, I still have plenty of it. For example, why did they not consider a under counter or build in coffee brewer? And why is red and not yellow their choice. I asked a friend who is an interior designer about this situation, and this is how he replied. When people are doing renovation for their kitchen, they would designate space for oven, dish washer, washing machine and fridge.

But, build in or under counter coffee machine is not something that they would factor in. Most consumers still think of coffee makers as something you put on your counter top, thus they would finished their kitchen renovation prior to looking for a coffee maker.

And the color red tend to be a generic color that is able to blend into most of the kitchen decoration. It looks good but not over powering, moreover, it is a color that is common enough for people to accept it. Colors like yellow for example, would be considered to be too loud for many people, while silver is too boring. Thus, a red one is a color that can strike a balance.

It is difficult to recommend coffee brewers based on color. But, if I would to do it, I would suggest one that comes with a lower price point.

This is because, if look and feel is the primary focus on the person looking for it, taste profile is not that important. So, they would not want to spent too much on similar looking machine just to have a better coffee. That being said, freshness is still essential. Based on these criteria, I would recommend the "kalorik" red thermo flask coffee maker. It has the look and feel (and most importantly the red color) that people are looking for. And its thermal feature would keep coffee hot and fresh for at least 2 hours.

And the price point for this is affordable at less than $50, a price people would not mind spending on coffee machine. There you have it, my take on why people are looking for a red coffee brewer, and the model which I would recommend...

Ebenezer Heng, the owner of On Coffee makers does the research for on any machines related to coffee. As long as you are looking for a machines to better your coffee experience, chances are you can find it at http://www.oncoffeemakers.com or that red coffee maker

K-Cups for the Keurig Brewer. buttery flavor of luscious nutty pecans 4 boxes of 25 cups.

Has this ever happened to you? You are thinking one day that what the world needs is a new widget, or mouse trap, or whatever. Before you even get around to developing a business plan, somebody Elsi has beaten you to the punch. This is what happened to me a couple of times. Once it was taco stands, and once it was coffee shop franchises. You guessed it, I thought of both of those things first, but somebody else stole my ideas and started Taco Bell and Starbucks before I had a chance to . Well, they actually couldn't steal my ideas since I never did anything but think about them. Don't let this happen to you. If you have a great idea, get out there and do something about it. If you don't do something about it today, somebody else will.

Whether you love or hate Starbucks coffee, or you stay home and make coffee and espresso in your own coffee maker, you have to admit it is successful. Actually the only ones who hate Starbucks are their competitors, and a couple of old fashioned folks, like my father. I bring my father into this because he hates Starbucks. It has very little to do with coffee and everything to do with patriotism. You see, my father will not drink a cup of Starbucks coffee because he feels they do not support our troops. Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, of course, but you would think a position such as this would hurt their sales, regardless of the fact that they are the largest coffee shop chain in the country. What makes it surprising is that most of middle America is staunch in not supporting companies that do not support our troops. The feeling in the heartland goes something like this: "If you want to live here and enjoy the freedom our soldiers have fought for, you sure as heck better support our soldiers who gave it to you in the first place".

Anyway, I would like to be rich, but I would like to find a way to do this without working too hard. So I figure if I went back to my original idea of a coffee shop chain, I could put Starbuck's out of business. Don't a lot of people feel like my father and want to buy their coffee from a company that supports America and its troops.

Keurig Green Mountain Dark Magic Coffee K-Cup, 5 Pack

Monday, February 16, 2009
The advantages of K-cups include an airtight seal and cup which locks out light, oxygen, and humidity (all of which adversely affect coffee flavor), a pure paper filter, as well as the ideal grind and measure for that variety of coffee or tea. In fact the patented Keurig K-cup is actually a highly engineered, technologically advanced mini-brewer. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters are known for their commitment to quality, from the beans they select to their roasting and grinding processes. Dark roasting draws out deeper aromatic oils in a coffee bean, and develops layers of hidden flavors, from caramel to bittersweet chocolate. Dark Magic is crafted for sweet and intense espresso, but its spellbinding complexity is an excellent choice for regular coffee too.

A debate that has been raging for the last few years boils down to one basic thought: is healthy coffee a myth or a reality? Many researchers believe that the health benefits of drinking a cup of coffee greatly outweigh the supposed ill effects of the drink. There is so much information available on the pros and cons of drinking coffee that many consumers are becoming confused. Is coffee a healthy drink or is it harmful to the body and best avoided? Let's try to answer that question.

What Is Healthy Coffee?

First, let's define what healthy coffee is. it is an eight ounce cup of regular black coffee with no added whitening agents, flavorings, or sugar. When consumed as a basic product with no additives, coffee is a low fat, low sugar, low calorie beverage. It is when the consumer starts to add items like cream, milk, flavored syrups, and chocolate that the drink starts becoming unhealthy. Some of the coffee drinks sold in coffee shops can have as many calories as a ?pound cheeseburger from a leading fast food restaurant.

What Benefits Does Healthy Caffeine Provide?

Recent studies have suggested that healthy coffee can provide a variety of health benefits to consumers. The antioxidant properties of coffee are highly prized and can help reduce the risk of cancer in some individuals. These antioxidant properties also act as anti-inflammatory agents, protecting the body from minor injury. Healthy Caffeine has also been found to ease and speed the passage of waste in the bowels, reducing the risk of constipation and hemorrhoids.

It is also believed that the consumption of healthy caffeine may reduce an individual's risk of developing diabetes. Studies have found that individuals that drink more than three cups of coffee daily reduced their risk of developing diabetes by about 20%. If those cups were filled with decaf coffee, the percentage jumped to between 30 to 40 percent. Studies are still trying to determine why this link between healthy coffee and diabetes exists and researchers are trying to find a way to apply these findings to daily life.

Although healthy caffeine does not belong in the same category as fruit juice and water for healthiest drinks, it certainly is better for you than first believed. Coffee will never replace the fruits, vegetables, and grains that are so important to our daily diet, but it may prove to be a welcome addition to them. The antioxidant properties of healthy caffeine may prove to keep us healthy as well.

Single cup coffee brewing systems have become increasingly popular and there is quite a large variety of different models. In fact, you'll need a spreadsheet when you try to evaluate the different features of each brand. The most important consideration should be the quality of that single cup of coffee that the machine can produce in less than a minute. As you look at different brewing systems, ask what the machine brews to produce that cup of coffee. Does it use coffee packaged in pods, in capsules or K-Cups? Some one cup machines only have limited options when it comes to coffee choices while others offer a broad variety of roasts. How do costs compare, not only for the machine, but for the pods or K-Cups? For some coffee lovers, the coffee cost is really not as important as the taste and quality of the cup that is brewed. Compare the features of these two single cup coffee brewers, priced $119.99 to $149.99.

  • Vacuum packed K-Cups of teas from Celestial Seasonings, Bigelow, and Twinings, as well as, cocoa from Emeril and Bellancino are available.

Quality of the CoffeeSenseo Supreme

  • Many of the previous complaints about weak coffee produced by this one cup machine have been decreased by the addition of the Volume Brewed Control. This allows you to use one large coffee pod or two smaller ones while reducing water volume to brew a stronger cup.

Keurig Special Edition B60

  • Unanimously, all reviewers reported that the Keurig machine brews a consistently good, full-bodied cup of coffee.
  • There were no significant complaints while there was praise for the Keurig machine's durability and reliable performance.

Green Mountain Coffee French Roast K-Cups 100ct

Thursday, February 12, 2009
Green Mountain Coffee French Roast K-Cups 100ct - K-Cups for the Keurig Brewer. A continental favorite that's smoky and sweet. 4 boxes of 25 cups.

During the 1930's physicists began to find a plethora of atomic particles. There were all types of new and exciting things that were discovered. Enrico Fermi, a famous physicist made a comment about if he had wanted to know about all of these fresh new ions, that he would have been a botanist. Later on Fermi would be the one to create atomic bombs.

However, the point is well taken and this is how I feel about coffee. While it is a great drink to have, do we really need all of these different names?

Names like Frappe, in which the e is silent. This coffee is very popular in Europe and Latin America. It is a cold espresso that is created with two teaspoons of sugar and milk and a number of ice cubes that are crushed. A quarter cup of brandy and crme de cacao to give it a little kick. It is generally served with a straw, making it a little bit of a noisy drink to have.

The partner in crime of the Frappe is the Cappuccino Borgia. This drink gets its name from Lucrenzia Borgia, the infamous woman that was known for poisoning people. It has 1/2 cup chocolate ice cream and a 1/4 cup peeled orange, this is quite a treat. Put six teaspoons of orange juice and a quarter cup of milk into an espresso and blend. You will soon come to realize why this drink is named after a woman that poisoned people.

Back in the 21st century we take a trip to the Caribbean for a Calypso Cooler. This is a cup of chilled super strong coffee with a few ripe bananas and a couple of cups of coffee ice cream. Throw in 4 tablespoons of rum and find yourself in heaven.

The Caffee Zabaglone makes the most of alcohol. Start off with a quarter cup of dry Marsala and add in a cup of sugar. Toss in a bit of salt and four egg yolks. Whisk this concoction until it is thick. Next put in a cup of Italian roast at room temperature. This can be a cure all or a kill all.

New Orleans is home to a double strength American roast, with a 1/2 cup of heavy cream, eggnog and bourbon. This drink is called the Mardi Gras.

Original Turkish coffee is known for its strong tastes and a flavor mixed with cardamom. However, they are not alone in finding great sues for this spice. Cardamon Kaffee is a Scandinavian treat.

It begins with an eighth-cup of cognac and two teaspoons of curaccao. Add in a teaspoon of sugar and a cardamom pod that is cracked and seeded. Warm it in the microwave for ten seconds and then strike a match and hold the flame to it. Add in half a cup of extra strength coffee and prepare yourself for a smoking experience.

Even though the names can be confusing, the effort of the creators should be recognized. All of the mixtures and names probably took a good deal to work out. Not to mention, all of these drinks are sure to keep you awake.

Timothy's World Coffee, Extra Bold Parisian Nights, K-Cups for Keurig Brewers, 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Customer Review: Best of the K's
I like bold, rich coffee and this one does the trick for me. I like Timothy's coffee pretty much over the other brands due to their flavor profile. They are not burned tasting even in the dark offerings and are not acidic like some of the others out there. Paul Newman's Organic is my go-to k-cup if Amazon is out of Tim's. Not a five star rated product because I don't give fives, something has to be spectacular to get one. This is just darn good coffee. If you are comparing based on price watch out for the piece count in the box. Some guys are only giving you 18.
Customer Review: Good coffee!
I liked this coffee the best so far out of all the Timothy brand K-cups that I've tried. It's a stronger coffee and has a good flavor compared to Rainforest, and they are both 'extra bold'. I would recommend this!

Coffee Presses

French presses or more recently coffee presses are the ultimate green coffee maker. Other than heating water in a separate kettle no energy is required, and now the Toddy Maker Cold Brew Coffee Maker eliminates even that requirement. The toddy maker coffee cold brew method drastically reduces many of the oils and acids found in hot brewed coffee that are not soluble at low temperatures. Cold brew coffee is easier on the stomach for acid sensitive coffee drinkers. Opinions vary on if cold brew leaves too much of the oil and acid in the bean.

Perhaps the most valuable feature of coffee presses is that they give you absolute control over the temperature of the water used for the coffee maker brew, which, along with the quality of the bean, is probably the most important factor in the quest for the perfect cup. Bodum is still the biggest seller worldwide but AeroPress and other coffee press manufacturers are making a name. The number of reviews for coffee machines of all kinds indicate how passionate people are about their coffee and the different styles of coffeemakers.

Drip Coffeemakers

Cold water from a reservoir on the coffee maker is first heated and then dripped onto coffee grounds contained within a filter assembly. That is the essence of a drip coffeemaker. You can still find manual drip coffeemakers but the overwhelming majority of drip coffee makers are electric. The final result is brewed coffee deposited into a glass pot, a thermal carafe, or an insulated travel mug.

There are variations in the water temperature of the brew, the filter assembly design, and speed of the drip, so some drip coffeemakers do make better coffee than others, and it's not necessarily a function of price. Black & Decker is the value leader. With a little experience, however, you can tweak any drip coffeemaker to get it just right for you. Some models are programmable and have built-in water filters. Some drip coffeemakers like the Cuisinart DGB900 grind and brew in one operation. A drip coffeemaker sits on your kitchen counter in plain sight so maybe the deciding factor should be whether the darn thing is attractive enough to be there.

Gloria Jean's Coffees, K-Cup, French Vanilla Supreme Decaf for Keurig Brewers, 24-Count Boxes (Pack of 2)

Customer Review: Not bad for decaf
I have often decried the lack of flavored decaf k-cups, but this one is fine. The flavor is more vanilla extract than vanilla bean, but it's fun, we enjoy it. We'll order it again, because, well, what other decaf choices are there? Hazelnut, or plain! Just don't bother brewing it any higher than the 5.5 oz (strongest) setting -- it's not a strong coffee!
Customer Review: I love love love this coffee!
We recently received a Keurig brewer for Christmas 2008 and have been trying all of the different flavored coffee k-cups and this one is my favorite. I think the subtle vanilla flavor is great. It has a nice nutty after-taste and an almost creamy mouth feel. This is a great coffee!

Mention gourmet coffee companies and the first company you're likely to think of is Star-something or other. But another company is beating Starbucks in national taste tests.

Caribou Coffee has been ranked first in national taste tests and is the second largest coffee-house company in the world. Those taste tests compared Caribou's coffee favorable to over 40 other brands. Caribou's product must be pretty tasty to rate that highly.

The company was started in Edina, MN, by John and Kim Puckett. The Pucketts then sold the venture to Crescent Capital, an Atlanta, GA, investment firm. From a single store, Caribou has grown to 450 coffee houses nationwide.

Coffee beans and ready-made coffee, both hot and cold, are available at those stores, along with gourmet products like lattes, smoothies, loose-leaf tea and blended drinks. The friendly Caribou staff is happy to make your brew your way. Show your java preference by picking up Caribou Coffee clothing and accessories, such as tote bags and key rings. Of course, the coffee houses also have tasty treats to go with your java. It's a great place to stop for your morning "starter fluid" or a mid-day pick-me-up. Bring your friends to a great place to socialize.

If you have a loved one who's a coffee addict, show your style by giving a gift of Caribou Coffee. They'll admire your good taste and enjoy your gift. With luck, they'll share it with you. Buy your own too, so you have it on hand when you can't get to the coffee house itself. It's also nice to have a supply on hand when you have surprise guests over.

Going green is big business these days and Caribou has been doing its share to protect the environment. Caribou is working the Rainforest Alliance to produce an environment-friendly coffee. That effort has not always gotten the most favorable press but the company is determined to be environmentally aware in its business dealings. The company was also the first volunteer sponsor of the Specialty Coffee Association of America's Producer Support Fund to help other members who cannot afford to take part in association activities.

All this success has not come without controversy. In the days immediately after September 11, 2001, some people protested against the company because one of its largest stockholders was the First Islamic Investment Bank of Bahrain, whose chairman was Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi. Later in the year, al-Qaradawi stepped down from the post.

Now that the controversy has died down, the company can concentrate what it does best - making great coffee. There's a reason that Starbucks is rated second to Caribou. Why not stop in and find out what that reason is? Look in your phone book or online to find the nearest Caribou Coffee outlet and grab a cuppa today.
